I’m Mike MacDowell, a Great Britain slowpitch player and professional coach. I created M44 Coaching to help slowpitch softball players become better hitters, better decision-makers, and more confident competitors.
Why M44 exists
My coaching combines elite-level playing experience, years of hitter development, and a practical athlete-first approach. The aim is simple: make the swing easier to understand, easier to train, and easier to trust in games.

My coaching story
M44 Coaching is personal. It is built from the lessons I have learned as a player competing domestically and internationally, and as a coach working with hitters from their first slowpitch swing through to competing on the world stage.
The focus is not on giving players a hundred disconnected swing thoughts. It is about finding the few changes that matter, building a repeatable plan, and helping each hitter understand what their best swing should feel like under pressure.
